05/19/14 - We decided on a name!

Mark Lim - Coming up with a name is probably the most difficult things when starting a company. Luckily it's much easier when your company has a theme and a niche audience.

Austin and I tossed around the idea of sticking with my original T-shirt company PoisonApple (www.PoisonApple.com) but the style of shirts and the community we're trying to sell to doesn't fit.

We talked about branching out into "Poison Brass" or something but that sounded weird and made no sense unless you knew what Poison Apple was.

Eventually I ended up making a huge list of random words that have to do with guns, gun parts, and military tactics and sent them to Austin:

We sat on this list for weeks until we decided we HAD to choose a name. Being a nerd I leaned toward using terms used in tactical gaming. I suggested we make our company name Overwatch and we both thought it sounded good and that's what we went with. Austin immediately purchased OverwatchApparel.com and that's how things got started!
